Settummanque, the blackeagle (WALTOML@WKUVX1.BITNET)

I got it...the Beaver looked really great!
As a graduate of the "Doc" Mitchell School of Scouting Recruiting and
Retention (taught back then in them "good old days" of the University
of Scouting!), I used many of his ideas and the general plan.
The flyers went home only to a third of the fifth graders. We have
yet to get *one* back from ANY parent of a sixth grader. The flyers
were the Boy-Fact Survey cards, along with another one explaining the
Scouting programs available in the community.
There's other stuff that went on when during this time...I'll
summarize everyone's notes to me and explain a little more clearer
what happened (and more logically now that I can take a step back and
look at it more objectively now), and leave a note for everyone.
Please note everyone, that Carroll/Mitchell's steps *do* work and I
used it as part of an update to a Regional publication on recruiting
techniques...which is still being taught to Professionals attending
Regional NEI II courses in the Southern Region.
I just don't know what it is about *this town* and Scouting that don't
make it work completely!
Thanks for the information and for the description....and please tell
Doc that I said "Hey" and I'll see both of you in the spring at the
Spring Camporee there in Kit Carson!
