Question to some even more old time scouters? (older that ME HAH!)
Or maybe to those that have the OLD requirements with PATHFINERS
etc. Was there EVER a requirement in any scout badge, (IN ANY
scouting nation), for a SCOUT to KILL his own prey, clean it
etc., and eat it? I don't have fishing MB requirements handy,
but that was NOT a required badge.
My question is more oriented towards Small fuury game, anyway!
In the back of my thinking is the fact that BSA used to sell
a sheath knife, but NO LONGER seems to promote the sale or use.
Maybe the fact that BSA no longer (or NEVER?) had any requirements
to have or use a BOWIE/sheath type knife, is why it was dropped,
along with the potential for mis-use and injuries etc.
Still scouting since 1957, never had a BSA sheath knife, never NEEDE one!
