Steve, In your posting about how you have recruited new boys, you mentioned
that you reactivated Troop 1 - 15 months ago.
We have a similar history, we chartered Troop 5 - 15 months also (6/2/92).
We started with 9 scouts (3 new scouts, 3 transfers from another troop, and
3 Webelos). We picked up a few, lost a few and were at about 15 when, this
spring, Webelos from three packs joined the troop. Our official count is 31
I think, but we seem to have 25 that are currently fairly active.
I understand about "troop meetings being the worst part of scouting" (quoted
from one of your junior leaders). Our troop is very young in age, and boy
leadership abilities is in the learning mode (but that's what it's all about)
:) I have printed your posting, and will give it to our SM- he has been
very interested in the items I print from the list.
Thanks for the great info, and good luck with getting new scouts (I'll
bet that your treasurer will survive 10-16 additional scouts, but he/she
may get a frog caught in his/her throat <g!>.
