Regarding the sheath knife problem: As I understand it, a scout/
scouter may not WEAR a sheath knife. This is for protection in case of a fall.
It is my further understanding that sheath knives may be carried INSIDE a pack.
After all, the knives often used for food preparation are the functional
equivalent of sheath knives. Regardless, we discourage even their possession
in the troops I'm associated with. After all, the boys will try to wear them
even when told not to (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!).
