Eagle Court of Honor

Hi All -
I'm on an "advancement high" these days as our troop (just starting its 3rd
year of existance) will hold its first Eagle Court of Honor on the 19th.
The Scout and his parents have asked some of the adult troop leaders to
brainstorm with them tomorrow night to finalize plans for the Court. Our group
(which includes several Eagles) has virtually no experience in preparing Eagle
courts. We all are aware of the precedent-setting nature of our first ECOH and
want to create an inspirational and memorable occasion for *all* the scouts and
their families, as well as the Eagle and his family.
We've all been to Eagle courts before and have had some helpful literature from
our district for starters. But besides usual light box, Eagle charge, letters,
etc., the Scout and his parents want to add some special touches. For example,
at one point in the Court, all those present who worked with the Scout along
Eagle trail will be asked to stand up. (Everyone will be surprised at how few
in a large audience remain seated.)
Does anyone out there have suggestions for other such things to include? (Don?
Mike? anyone else?) We'd sure appreciate your ideas!
