RE>tenure for training awards
Kathie -- I appreciate your providing the Nationals viewpoint. I would like
to express a comment that I hear and have to deal with often.
There are many leaders who because of lack of leadership take on multiple
positions. I for one, am the cubmaster and a den leader. However, I am
registered as only the Cubmaster. I will continue to be Cubmaster for my
pack until my son's cross-over. As such, according to the requirements for
tenure I can never get my Den Leader or Webelos Leader (I'm trained in all
positions) knots! I could register as a Den Leader, but than the Pack would
show no registered Cubmaster and this throws the district stats into caos.
So, pray tell, how does a person such as I, receive those awards they have
so appropriately earned. I know I'm not alone, and why it doesn't make a
big deal to me, there are others who it does. Personally, the only knots I
wear on my uniform are the ones that are important to me -- Eagle, AOL, and
Religious Award, all of which were earned as a youth!
