I am forwarding the following message to the Scouts-L net for a friend, he
is looking for a BSA unit in England that a boy in his Troop can transfer to.
Thanks, Olan Watkins

Perhaps you will be able to helpme... allow me to explain.
I have been very active with a very strong Boy Scout Troop. Two years ago, a
family moved into the neighborhood from the UK. They became active in our
Scouting program. Their son is currently our Senior Patrol Leader, and their
14 year old daughter is a member of our Explorer Post. Both parents have
extremely active and are wonderful people and wonderful scouters. Cathy is
Cubmaster, and Bruce is an assistant SM. Both are also active on the
level. To make a long story short... the company for which Bruce works has
suddenly decided to recall him and his family.... never mind that they were
told that they would be here 4 to 8 years. They are selling their home,
cars, and really going through a hassle!!! The kids will also endure
This is the trouble and the reason for my query. Their son is a Life Scout
our Troop and is very close to earning his Eagle Rank. We'd like to find an
American Boy Scout Troop (such as those found near US military bases) in the
area where his family will be living which he may join, and continue on the
trail to Eagle. ... If it is even permissable! Chelmsford (not sure what
nearest majop city is) is where thry may end up.
Do you have any comments or suggestion!!!
