In the action center we recieved a several page questionaire for a
critique and/or evaluation of our are, and for general comments.
We noted the problems with our local area, as well as the excess
traffic on Thomas roads, PLUS the fact that the SCOUT busses started
only after program areas were open, and closed at the same times.
So if a scout wanted to be at an action center or Merit badge a 9,
they had to walk up to 4 miles, up hill (both ways). If they stayed
until the area closed at 5, they had to wlak back. The two bus loops
also did not connect, and left many areas of the jambo underserved.
If I get it all together and try to figure out HOW to make it better
for 97, I may write to National and section HQ. However, I was warned
that if you get too many GOOD ideas, you get put in charge of something!
However, with ALL the good points of the jambo, I do not plan any real
in depth letter UNLESS I or others, find a good solution, or a better
way to run the railroad.
