Hey guys, there's nothing wrong with those 'old time' groups. SOme
of us still remember the 60's fondly. It is just a bit strange that
the popular groups of our youth are still performing as they approach
their own 60's! I mean, look at Jerry Garcia (of the Grateful Dead
for you teenyboppers) -- he must be nearly 100 by now, at least he
looks like it.
Buyer beware, however. My wife and I had a BAD experience with
nostalgia. We responded to this ad that the New Christy Minstrels
were coming to town for a concert and we bit. Turned out the "New
Christy Minstrels" were 5 (five) young people who probably weren't
even born when the REAL NCM was performing. The first remark one
of them made was to the audience: "You people didn't REALLY expect
to see 50 year old folk-singers, did you?" Yes, young man, I did.
But lets gooooo back..... remember Snooky Lansom and "Your Hit Parade"??
...... How much was that doggggie in the window?????
Ever try to hum a rap 'song
