Just received via FAX the following memo regarding the flood relief
participation of our Scouts. This is being forwarded to you for your
information. If anyone wishes to help, I would think that the other 3 regions
have a similar setup. If not, call our Central Region and see what you and
your scouts can do.
I will quote the memo:
"As you know, recent flooding has devastated much of the Midwest. As good
Scouts, we have a responsibility to help othrs in need. We would like to
encourage your units to participate in a support effort to assist the Council
areas most affected by the floods.
Bill McElroy, at the Central Region, is coordinating all offers of support from
Scout units and individuals. Please contact him at 708/983-6730 if you are
interested in helping with the flood relief. Bill is currently conducting a
survey with affected Councils and will soon have a list of their needs. His
survey will focus on what we can to do help Scouts units, Scout Councils,
volunteers and the community as a whole.
Scout units and/or individuals interested in helpign are encouraged to call Bill
as soon as possible."
