WHY the change from 30 to 36 sf anyway? Did some health department
study come up with the new number? OR is it just a plot to force
the camps to upgrade the tents and build new plattforms? Our
OA lodge has helped set up tents and sites for summer camp for
a number of years. I must admit, that the NEW larger & outrigged
platforms, with two cross members under the floor sections, sure
make it easy and simple to have a FLAT and mostly level floor!
It also makes it nice to tie out the sides for open vetilation on
hot days, and the water level almost never gets higher than the new
floor/platforms, and the outriggers make a nice place to air out a
sleeping bag or towels. I also note that the jambo troop is using these
newer slightly LARGER tents! I don't think they are taking the floors!
Next thing you know, we will have to limit the number of fish in the
lake! Or maybe even the number of flies in the DINNING areas!
