I sort of agree with this and it is certainly the prevailing attitude over
here. If there is one big problem, it's that some of the cheapest and best
gear comes from army surplus stores...
Besides, if you are trying to teach people to blend in and live with nature
without destroying it, there is something anachronistic about certain
modern trends of fluorescent clothing and packaged dried foods and so on.
While in practice technology is very beneficial to survival, the essence of
survival training is surely to learn to live without supplies and equipment.
