That's the first I heard of that, too. That is the typical minimum six you
can get (6 ft x 6 ft). That would mean each boy gets his own tent. Neither
practical nor desirable, from a financial, tactical or social standpoint.
I remember the old Voyager tents, although the Troop I was in as a boy used
the Camper tent. Nice, relatively light, an adult could stand up in it, and
it didn't need a ridgepole. Tended to be a pain to keep set up with those
flimsy tent stakes that National sold, though (#4 rebar was a better staking
These new, lightweight dome tents are OK, and I don't think I would want to
go back to the good ole days of <those> tents.
