Would I just address a letter to ATTN: Jambo Staff Services at
the regular National Address etc.?
I got plenty of help one the FIRE alarm sounded! I was in a
bit of a panic, BUT, no one esle knew there was even a fire! :)
I think we all learned to have a BACKUP plan, in effect. This
was a real combination effort to almost screw it up! First
the committee chair who set it up and had the final revised
copy of the ceremony was STUCK out of town at the very last
minute!!! Like late Saturday nite, with no way to get back.
The priest that he had been in contact with, and had the
other copy of the ceremony for final review, SUDENLY was
on VACATION!! Another priest was asked to fill in, but he
had no IDEA where or what or when etc!!! Once the SM was
told, he pulled out his resources, I pulled out copies of
what I had printed from the list, and asked for help getting
some of the others, and our chartered ORG rep (civilian type)
coordinated with the priest so he knew the basics, and at
11:59, the new ceremony was delivered to the church.
It was great! All but one other Eagle in my family was
present. The previous scoutmaster, who started my son in
the troop and signed his final MB card, was crying! The
entire troop was present in uniform, and left for summer
camp right from the ceremony. And it finally rained last night
and coolled things down a lot.
I think in the end it gave new meaning to be prepared!
