Wearing an old uniform.

My son was recently given an almost new olive-green BSA shirt. He would
like to use this as part of his uniform but I have insisted that he
do so in accord with the regulations. As I recall, we discussed the
wearing of old uniforms a while back and it was concluded that one could
wear an old uniform as long as it was complete and had current BSA insignia
in all the correct places.
Can anyone tell me what would be the correct accessories for a short
sleve shirt of this vintage? I think it would be khaki shorts, long
green socks (with garders) and a BSA garrison cap. Does this sound
about right? What about the neckerchief?
