Speaking as a CubMaster I do not want anyone as a leader in my unit
who is not willing to attend a youth protection program even if it
does give me problems finding leaders - Currently my pack has 100%
trained leadership and we want to keep it that way!
Speaking as the Cub Scout District training chair, including the
YPP in our Basic Training is difficult - we are a rural district
people have to come a long way and adding an extra hour and a
half to the program is not going to endear use to any one -
I hope we can convince the Unit Commisioners to take the
program on the road to the Units - this way we will also
catch the "Trained" leaders.
This program is very important and I really do belive that if we
"sell" it correctly to the parents we are going to have very
strong turn outs at the YPP sessions.
