I attended the Boy Scout Weekend Course WE2-590-4-92 (September '92)
at Camp Tracy near Salt Lake City, Ut. I'm a proud member of the Bear
patrol. Our "totem" consists of the brighter stars in the
constellation Ursa Major (Great Bear), commonly known as the Big
Dipper. I was Patrol Leader on the 4th day, an so I emphasize the 4th
star from the front of the "bowl" as "my" star:
. * .
Unfortunately, my responsibility in our sponsoring organization (the
local ward in the LDS Church) has changed, and I will no longer be
Scoutmaster (I really worked hard the last couple of months to
complete my ticket before the change ). *sigh* :-( I've been SM for 3
years, and also just completed my Scouters Key award. Even though I
won't be directly involved with Scouting for the next while, the
skills learned at Wood Badge will definitely be of value in my other
responsibilities in the Church, as well as work and home. Hopefully
I'll be able to get back into Scouts in the future. (I would very much
like to go to either/both a National Jamboree or Philmont with my Son
-- currently 11 -- in a few years).
