no, not with druids at stonehenge!
This weekend, about 400 Ventures, Rangers and Scout Fellowship
members will gather in Gloucestershire, in the UK for the "Sun
Run". This annual event consists of a weekends jollity, discos,
challenges, oh yes, and a 23 mile overnight hike! The aim is to
watch the sun set from the Malvern Hills, cross the Severn Valley,
and be back at base in time to watch the sun rise...no problem!
(Except that the previous two times I have taken part, it's been
more of dark grey turning to light grey than a full-blown dawn!)
Highlights of the event include the convoy of 8 double decker buses
cferrying the runners to the start point, the sight of 400 people
in florescent safety wear doing aerobics on top of a hill to warm
up,.....and crawling into a sleeping bag at the end!
oh, and the other great thing about the Sun Run is trying to remember
WHY you agreed to take part AGAIN!
