I did my UK wood badges - Cub Scout (74) , Scout (77) and Commissioner (87)
and, being totally MAD went and did the BSA course at Philmont in '91. The
BSA course was very different to the training I had done previously, even
the Scout course, which I did at Gilwell. It was a magic experience, even
for an old stager with twenty years or more of leadership experience
under his belt. By dat two or three you will probably wish you had never
started - you'll be tired and stressed as anything. By the end of the
course it all clicks into place and you won't want to go home.
I flew nearly seven thousand miles all told, and I hate to think what it
cost, but it was well worth it!
