In T401 we usually do a " Scout's Own " on Sunday when in camp. This is a
UK term we have borrowed, short for Scouts' Own Service. Since we have Jews,
Baptists, LDS, Roman Catholic, Unitarian and a fair sprinkling of other
denominations it gets a bit interesting trying to put it together.
typically there will be a reading (Old Testament or a secular uplifting
story), some prayers (preferably some written / improvised by the Scouts)
and a hymn or psalm. We are trying to get some of the kids to practice
the tunes to provide a harmonica accompaniment next time. A short
Scoutmaster's Minute concludes. Whole thing takes less than ten minutes,
usually done after morning Colors.
