The leaders in the BSA are stongly encourage to take training also. However,
we have Cub Scout Basic training or Scoutmaster Fundemetnatals. I've been
told that they are similar to your Woodbadge I. Woodbadge for Scouts is
for Scoutmasters (troop Scouter). Wood Badge for Cubs is for trainers.
As a Cub Scout leader, I took Basic and then Webelos outdoor training. (Our
cubs the first two years don't do camping as a unit. The second two years
they do. It's something like the change between your Beavers and Cub Scouts.
The boys can do family camping and camping provide by council the first two
years.) I haven't gone on to Train The Trainer or Woodbadge.
