For a conservation project that can be accomplished by nine-year-old
boys, try trail seeding/reseeding. Trails in the National Forest (especially
those used by ORVs) often need this sort of work. This is the sort of project
that is quite variable in its duration and intensity. The length, nature of
vertical relief, general condition and other factors are all determinents.
Check with the District Ranger near you for a suitable project. Stream clean-
up is another possibility. For those of you looking for possible Eagle
Projects, trail maintenance is a classic. The usual rules apply.
Hope this helps.
