Jim's note about the combined CSP-Troop number patches is right on target...
they should NOT be used except during the Jamboree. The same goes for those
Jamboree CSPs that have the Troop numbers as part of the CSP (without the
red and white troop numbers attached). They too, should not be worn
after the Jamboree.
Scott Begin's note about several local Councils producing "yearly" CSPs
reminded me of the time that National was trying to keep Councils from
ordering their CSPs from any other source other than the National Supply
Division. The Circle Ten Council (the Council serving the "National Office")
had this policy as Scott mentioned, whereby they would change the border color
and the color of the ropes in the center of the patches (and other things).
The Circle Ten Council at that time used a local company in Dallas to
make their Council patches for them.
They later on conformed to the present policy, used by a great majority of the
local Councils...and the number of "yearly" CSPs produced went down significantl
y as a result!
Settummanque!@Hey!! What ever happened to supply and demand??
