It's been about 25 years since Alden Barber announced coed exploring--
I was at the conference in Colorado when all the side chatter stopped
and a lot of the traditionalists dropped their jaws. I can't imagine
that it is still an issue!
On the other hand, none of the post that I have advised have been very
interested in Scout summer camp. The program didn't meet their needs
for more adventure. If they're doing it to make a point, they are
wasting time and money. If it is what the members of the post want, then
just do it! Note, of course, the REQUIREMENT for female adult leaders. It
isn't optional, it is essential.
