To make your answer simple. Your Cubmaster uniform is the only acceptable dress
for this occasion. You are there representing not only your pack, your Scout,
but all of BSA and it's religious program.
The guys are right -- you never know when a young man is looking. You also need
to know that we are also very proud of that young man -- show him we are proud
of him. The Scout also should attend in uniform.
Sorry to your wife, but a suit is inappropriate at a Recognition ceremony.
Although the religious awards are not part of our program, we strongly
recommend our guys use the programs, and even allow them to wear the
recognition on their uniforms. Therefore, in the many, many award ceremonies
in all faiths that I have witnessed, the boys and leaders wear our uniform.
Give my personal very best to that young man.
