You asked for some information, so here it is. I can only tell you
about the regular scouts, I dunno much about the air- and
waterscouts, but maybe there are other dutch members who can
accomplish the list.
Scout-speltakken in the Netherlands
Bevers (5 to 7 years, mixed)
Welpen (7 to 11 years, boys)
Kabouters (7 to 11 years, girls)
Esta's (welpen and kabouters mixed)
Verkenners (11 to 14 years, boys)
Gidsen (11 to 14 years, girls)
Rowans (14 to 18 years, boys)
Sherpa's (14 to 17 years, girls)
Shero's (rowans and sherpa's mixed)
Pioniers (18 to ?? years, boys)
Voortreksters (17 to ?? years, girls)
Pivo's (Pioniers and voortreksters mixed)
Pivo's are also known as the 'Stam'.
There are some groups that have too little people for some speltakken
and therefore they allow scouts to stay with a speltak although
they're too old.
Jim Butler asked me to give him some information about the Jamboree
in Holland in 1995. I don't know much about it, but I'll try to get
some more information from Scouting Nederland. But maybe there are
people reading this who can tell something more. Or maybe someone can
tell us about the European Jamboree in 1994 that will take place in
Holland. As soon as I get the information from Leusden ('bout the
Jamboree) I'll let you all know.
