I think I'll do that... (I do appreciate Jon Eidson monitoring this
list, noticing that I'm new here, and sending out the Welcome Wagon.)
My name is Bruce Madsen, and I'm a Scoutmaster in an LDS ("Mormon")
sponsored unit in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. I've been SM
for almost 3 years, and prior to that I was involved with the Webelos
program for a year. There are approximately 15 boys in my Troop, most
of which participate in our activities, but less than half seem to be
interested in actually working on advancements. I just recently
learned about this mailing-list, and decided to subscribe and see what
good recommendations/thoughts/ideas might appear that I could use to
better my Troop (I also watch the rec.scouting group on USENET).
I attended Wood Badge last fall (probably the greatest high-light of
my scouting experience), and am working on completing my Ticket.
I really enjoy working with the Scouts, and hope that I'm influencing
their lives for the better by working on the Aims of Scouting.
