I also served as Volunteer Advisor, Professional Advisor and as that
Post's first President during it's long history and it's ALWAYS had
girls (and couples) in the Post as members and advisors. The second
President was a girlfriend of mine (Paula Ward) and in three years
that I can remember, the Post consisted of several couples that met
either during a Post activity, a Girl Scouting activity (at one time,
both the Campus Scouts, a Girl Scouting Club and our Post were one and
the same, making for some interesting situations).
We've never had any problems with that...but then, we are an Explorer
Post and not a Scout Troop. Even with the Troop that we worked with
(Troop 202), we never had a problem with the girls from our Post
working with the boys (even the older boys) from the Troop.
I agree with Carroll, I don't really would like girls in the Boy
Scouting (junior) program. I would and strongly support girls as FULL
members of Varsity Teams and Venture Crews (which MAY be part of the
Troop, remember??), but let's give the younger guys time to develop
first and then bring int the girls!

Mee tooo...and not just an effective, quality program. An effective,
MANAGED, ENTHUSIASTIC quality program.
And *I* strive for that in EVERY program I work with!
Stick in there, Carroll...and don't forget to MOVE FORWARD Always!
