Rick, I agree that since the introduction of the Career Interest Post
concept that has been a lot less "Traditional" Exploring Posts, but there
have been more Posts in total since then.

That isn't my understanding of it, but who knows... I do know that since I
started working on the Exploring Division in our Council two years ago,
there has been an increase in both "High Adventure" and "Traditional"
Exploring Posts (all co-ed) and that there is more interest in all parts of
Scouting that provide an extension to the Troop experience (OA, Exploring,
Camp-O-Ree participation, etc.)
We just had our annual Exploring awards banquet tonight and we had over 80
in attendance (about 1/2 _were_ from our Law Exforcement Posts who are very
strong in the Council). I have been working with the Troops in our Council
to promote the "Traditional" Posts as a tool to retain the older Scouts,
pairing up a Troop and a Post (ie: Troop 227 and Post 227) where the members
are an overlap, and the Post is used as a training resource for the Troop,
