to Keith Garbutt: Verbally explaining how to build a "pop bottle rocket"
would probably tax the list to the utmost. Briefly, you need a device that
will firmly lock down a two-liter plastic pop bottle so that it can be
pressurized with a bicycle pump (the bottle should be about half full of
water to provide reactive mass), allow for the pressurization to take place
without significant loss of pressure or water, and then release it smoothly
in a vertical direction. Mr. Wizard (Don Herbert) demonstrated this on one
of his programs a couple of years ago. I believe he has written a books
(books?) on his projects. you may be able to get the visual info you need
in the library.
