Sam Fairchild sent a good idea for Roundtables that I thought other
Roundtable Staffers might want to think about. I know that I am going to
present all of the ideas that I have gotten, and will probably still get,
on the printing question and the attendance question at the next meeting
with my RT staff.
And now, Sam's idea:
Challenge units to present a "Showcase" display of what their pack does.
Give a consistent reward to those unit that pull it off.
My Pack does Showcase at the Buckeye District Roundtalbe every January,
so we keep a current video tape handy to play on one of those video
players you see everywhere (we ask parnets to provide the tape and to
find someone to edit a master tape once a year :-)
We also use the the tape for School Nght recruiting!
okay okay, more than one...
Have district commissioner involved in contacting no-show units.
Some units become well-enough trained at a few Rundtable meetings that
they think they can get along without. Teach them otherwise?
Also, make Roundtable a fun learning experience with prizes, snacks,
soft drinks and coffee/tea. Have your DE there *always*as a quickie
touchstone for that admin stuff we have to put up with.
Thanks to everyone that has offered suggestions up to this point. So far
most of the ideas are already incorporated into our roundtables, but there
are quite a few that my staff and I will discuss at our meeting.
Thanks to all who have replied and to those who will reply in the future.
