llevar a mi esposa.
Ensenada, Nogales, y Juarez.
Alright, I know, all most of us Gringos have no idea what I am taking
about. In a nut shell, I welcomed Claudia to the list in her native
tongue, since I speak it a bit. I indicated to her that I have been to
Guadalajara and I think it is a beautiful city.
Now a side note (if Claudia does not mind since it has to do with Scouting
MARK YOUR CLAENDERS JULY 5-11, 1994 (Thats right, 1994).
Catalina Council and the Mexicana Scout Association in the state of Sonora
Mexico will be having it's Primaree. This is done every two years
alternating between the U.S. and Mexican side of the boarder. It is sort
of a mix Summer Camp/Camporee event. Last year it was near Tucson, next
year it will be in Mexico. If you have scouts who might be interested, now
is the time to start talking it up. We do not have prices yet, but from
Tucson the price is comparable to Summer Camp. I expect the price to be
well below $200, probably in the area of $150. Four years ago it included
transportation from Tucson.
Catalina Council is not a big council. (In fact it is working hard or at
least the D.E.'s and Council President are working hard to be National
Standard. The threat is making Southern Arizona part of Phoenix Which just
absorbed Northern Arizona.) Since we are not that large, we have been
having trouble filling our quota for the Primaree. In an effort to provide
the U.S. with participation equal to the participation on the Mexican side,
we are promoting the event to Scouts outside the Council. So talk it up at
your Scout meetings and maybe some of you will find a few scouts who are
interested in an international Scouting event which will not bust the
I will keep the list informated as more information becomes available. If
you have interested Scouts, let me know, so I will be sure to get
information to you.
