Hey Don! Yep...a little common sence...I checked to make sure,
though...you know how the BSA is about common sence....

The CPR training the BSA is talking about is a four or eight hour CPR
program conducted by the American Red Cross (ARC) or the American
Heart Association (AHA), and is according to the National Safety and
Health Committee, the ONLY training certified for use to complete this
requirement. This can NOT be done by local rescue squads, EMTs, etc,
unless they are certified to conduct the CPR course by one of the two
PLEASE BE CAREFUL....Scouts and Scouters CAN BE HELD LIABLE if they
attend a course which is NOT certified by one or the other, and they
go out and perform or attempt to perform CPR on a person and
"something happened". Make sure that they have a card from one or the
other (and the BSA's First Aid MB card IS NOT A CERTIFICATION!) before
"going out on their own".

Once the approviate CPR course is completed, including the written and
practical portions, the certification is good for ALL purposes for ONE
YEAR after that time either national body will NOT support you in case
something "goes wrong". They will NOT have to take a second CPR
course (unless of course, their friends Carole and Denise are taking
the course also, in which case.....) *humorous momment here!*
