Back on the list...

After a few years vacation, I'm back on the SCOUTS-L list. Little time
frame between graduation and job (at the same university, no less) made
things interesting. I've actually had net access for the past year and a
half, but, you see, I lost the listserv address for SCOUTS-L and had a
*ahem* mildly difficult time locating it (used to be at NDSUVM1, I think?)
Those of you with internet access probably will recognize me if you follow
rec.scouting at all... I open my mouth occasionally "over there" as well.
But, anywho, just a bit of background as to who I am...
I've been in the program for over sixteen years now (ever since I was old
enough to join cubbing in the 70's). Eagle Scout class of '88, Vigil Honor
in Neemat Lodge (which I was Lodge Chief for in 87-88 and 88-89), and I'm
currently the Scoutmaster of Troop 46, Moby Dick Council BSA in
Massachusetts. I took about six months off last year to do something I've
wanted to do since Philmont (809-F, '84) -- backpack up the full length of
the Appalachian Trail. I've worked about eight years of summer camp staff
for Camp Cachalot as everything from CIT to Program Director (including
filling in the Ranger position temporarily when our Council was out
shopping), but right now Scoutmastering is like having another full-time job.
And somewhere in there I even did a stint as National Jambo staff (Subcamp
11, '89 jambo at AP Hill -- where else?)
What all that adds up to is a good question, but I still have a great time
with the program.
Looking forward to taking with (still more) people about the program we all
love (I hope!)....
