My sons were involved in saving a 100 year old apple orchard that had been
neglected for many years and indeed no longer looked like anything but
trees, and long ago ceased to produce.
The orchard is located at Volo Bog here in Illinois (a left over from the
glacier age). It is now producing, serving as a picnic grove backdrop and

Clark National Consevation Award through National. (This is a US award
They earned it while in Northeast Ill Council and the last time the award
had been earned in that council was 25 years before.
