Well, this past weekend might have NOT be too wonderfull for the
football team from these parts, however, Polaris District of
the Greater Niagara Fronteer council had one of the best KLondikes
ever! (IMHO - and not just because I was on staff again)
We had about 48 patroll sleds in the round robin event! And as
some of you may have noticed on CNN or ESPN, a warm front came
into BUffalo, and the weather was up to 5 degrees with bright sun!
On Satuday we had a lite wind and just enough lake effect SNOW, to
keep everything looking bright white! BY evening campfire, the
SNOW stopped, and every star in the sky could be seen. I couldn't
tell waht the temp was, because all my BSA jacket thermometer showed
was a red dot at the bottom!
Next weekend the older scout head NORTH to Canada for a Klondike
invite by SCOUTS Canada. ON Saturday, they will stay in shelters
contructed from snow and/or ice! I can already taste that great
Canadian porage for breakfast, frozen on a stick!
