Interresting back ground. I also took a group of
Explorers to Berlin in 1974, on the military Duty train.
I would love to go back and see the areas where the
guard towers used to stand, and walk THROUGH the
Brandenburg Gates. Most of our unit was kids from
the US concilate in Frankfurt, and we had money to
do anything. Ski trips, boat trips down the Rhine,
Train Trip to Paris and Insbruck. I wish I was able
to take my three children back now. The best I can do
this year is San Diego on a business trip!
I understand that scouting in many countries is alive
again! I hope to make it with my son to the next World
Jamboree, which I understand will be in Norway or Denmark.
My son would love to trade a TAC Council patch and Black
Eagle OA lodge flap, if you know anyone interrested. Our
Greater Niagara CSP, shows the FALLS, and our lodge flap
is colorfull with the Iroquios long house in the center.
My older son, was born in Germany, but we left long before
he was old enough to even be a cub.
