A few days ago someone on the list asked: "Where are the trivial
questions?" Since no one else bit, here goes the trivial question
of the day.
History: our pack Program Year starts in early September after the
beginning of school with our fall roundup and formation of new dens.
Our charter year begins at the end of December. We have always
presented the stars for years of service at the Blue and Gold
banquet in late February along with Quality Unit patches (when we
Under the old pack leadership, the year on the pins was always for
1 less than the current year, i.e. it was for COMPLETE years, so the
wolf boys would get no pin, the bears a "1", etc. EXCEPT FOR the
Webelos II who would get a "3" which is consistent but also a "4"
since they wouldn't be around to get the "4" next year. The same was
true for adult leaders who in their 'last' year (assuming we knew they
were going to leave in 5 months) would also get 2 year pins.
Question: Is this the 'correct' way to do it, or would it be ok to
present the pin for the current year even though it is only a little
over half done?
