I too (as a district commissioner) am very strict on proper uniforming.
The "patch vest" or "brag vest" properly titled either way, NEVER has been
and NEVER will be part of the official uniform. The vest is not to be worn
in any public situation, as it is not a part of the uniform. It is not to
be worn in format scouting activities. But it can be worn to troop
You find information on the vest directly in the supply catalog which has
always stated that it is NOT a part of the uniform.
It is also in rules and regs.
