Concerning your question about the Levi Strauss Co.:
The story I have heard is that LS cut off all support of the BSA for
their refusal to allow homosexuals(and maybe atheists, but don't quote me on
that)to be Scouts and/or Scouters. I never knew LS still supported the BSA.
I knew they manufactured the first Scout uniform pants with a guarantee that
if one Scout on each side of a pair of their pants could pull them apart, LS
would give them a new pair free.
Because of this move, I have ceased buying any more products made by
LS. It's a shame, because I have enjoyed their products for years, but I
agree with, and admire, the BSA for sticking to their guns. When I get some
time, I intend to write the CEO and tell him/her my decision.
