It's not that different here in TAC/NorAGS. The two councils' service centres
share a building, but you have to go outside to get from one to the other.
The only way that cooperation works is to have volunteers working on both
sides. The Girl Scout NTCC is also a Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner. BS
Troop 1's SM is married to the leader of Senior Troop 65, and both are
registered with both Troops. Pack 20's Chairman is a Junior Leader, and the
Advisor for Post 529 is a co-leader with a Cadette Troop. Last years' Junior
Trip to KISC and "Our Chalet" in Switzerland was run by Troop 1's
Chairman, and a BS visit to the US War Cemeteries in France was planned and
run by a couple of Girl Scout Leaders from a different community.
However, there is always a clear distinction between a BS event and a GS
event. The same people are there, but always wearing the correct uniform
for the event. When the NTCC, in GS uniform, presented the departing ADC
with a Girl Scout Award at a Boy Scout Roundtable, not everyone approved.
Events where the two organizations work together are rare indeed.
