Me too! A couple of years ago I was on a Webelos campout, walking
with a scout at the end of a hike when he told me he did not
believe in God. I was shocked, but neverless continued to talk to him
to get him to examine his views. He was pretty resolute. A while
later I talked to his Mom about the conversation and nothing more
was said. ... Today that scout is still with me and has risen to
an elected office in the troop and wears the silver and purple
knot representing the religious award from his church.
I think that scouting helped this boy find himself spiritually and
has done him a world of good. What if I had been the heavy and
bounced him out of scouting???
