Some things that worked well in our DENS in the pack was various
games! Not activity type games, but we had found a type of CUB Scout
trivial pursuit games, plus the are other BSA/CUBS boxed/board games.
We did like 10 "trivail" pursuit game questions starting like 5 minutes
before OFFICIAL meeting time, and kept a running tally over the meetings
of WHO had the most right-minus wrong answers. We had some FREE Dairy
Queen coupons for ALL the winners at the end of the year.
Once they became WEBELOS we added in some of our OWN question cards:
IE: What is the scout (boy scout) slogan?
What is the 2nd point of the scout law (3rd, 4th etc random order)
What is the 3 part of the scout oath or promise?
What WORD can you spell from the major points on a compas?
What is the hidden meaning of WEBELOS ?
etc: feel free to add your own - just a sample but it worked well 4 us.
We often found the OLD CUB and SCOUT games at flea markets and garage
sales for 50 cents. You can also check at various scout shops to
include CANADA for other scouting games.
