Yes, English Scouts and Scouters CAN wear BSA badges on their uniforms.
How do I know this?? While in Germany, the British Scouts of the Rhine
had several activities with American Scouts in which they both participated
in joint community activities and joint service projects. They both re
received awards (patches) from the Transatlantic Council and the British
Scouts were allowed to wear them on their uniforms.
Again, the rule for BSA wearing is that you only wear the foriegn award(s) in
the country where you earned/received it and only when members of that nation
are present. From the Insignia Control Guide..........
" Scouters occassionally receive awards from Scouting associations of other
nations, and it is important that they know how these awards should be worn.
This does not include Jamboree patches (because there is a specific place for
their placement on the BSA field uniforms).
1. They are always worn when visiting the country whose Scouting association
presented the award (in Don's case, Canada) or when attending a meeting or
function attended by Scouters from that country.
2. Medals awarded by other associations are worn above the left breast pocket.
The National Uniform and Insignia Committee is the final word on the wearing
of special awards from other nations.
