back in them dim age, there was Buffalo cncl, Erie County, Lakeshore
and Niagara Frontier. First, Buffalo + Erie County and Lakeshore
became Buffalo Area some time in the 40's, no wait, it was 1939,
based on the Charter date of the OA lodge! Lodge number 159,
Ganoste, was first chartered in 1939, in Buffalo Area Cncl.
In 1968 Buffalo area merged with Niagara Frontier, to become
Greater Niagara Frontier, and merger 159 and 284 Tuscarora
became 159 - Ho-de-no-sau-nee (current).
Fennimore Cooper and lodge 246 merged into Wash-Irving in 1955
with lodge 32 and the original Yonkers Council. Then again in
74 with Hutch-river and lodge 15. BTW the coucil strip for the
Westcherter-Putnam council retains the headless horseman logo
from old Washington Irving. Hope that gives you a few more
updates. The are still changes going on in the Albany TWO-RIVERS
area, and the Wester NY councils of Genesee, Cayuga cnty, Lesiston-
Trail and Greater Niagara Frontier. The lodge staff advisors had
some discussions concerning the posibilities at the conclave.
