I need some advice from this group. I'm not sure if I did the official
introduction, so I'll do a short one now.
I've been in Scouting since Cub Scouts and I earned my Eagle and my
Vigil in OA. I'm in grad school now, so I haven't been active in the
local troop, but I've stayed informed and attended OA events as
My father was called out last night and joined me and my two brothers
in OA. Unfortunately, the troop had problems getting the elections
done right. We have a new, but very active scoutmaster. My brother and
I plan to write a how-to manual for him to introduce him to the OA
procedures and expectations. He said the election team was late (They
had three to do that night) and had several other complaints about the
procedures. Most of them stemmed from his lack of knowledge.
Last night my brother and I debated if things were not going well or
if we were just getting "old" (he'll turn 21 in a few months) I'm
looking for ideas to help the troop have a better time next year.
