Thanks for the info. Now, you need to look into the beginnings of the
Scouting program in England, and you will find that Baden-Powell indeed
believed in God and that the boys involved in his Scouting program needed
to pledge their loyalty to the Queen and their religious beliefs.
I will try to locate my copy of some of his articiles, and get you the
title for your own interest.
It is by the way very true that Seton and West did not always get along,
but remember Seton was a Canadian who had his OWN group of young men in his
own program, and West was a businessman, not an artist or adventurer like
Seton. If you get a chance, read up some on Dan Beard!! There is someone
who really stirred the pot! He was also our first commissioner. Maybe
commissioners have always been a bit rebelious. I wonder.
