Two weeks at Philmont?

There is a chance that I will be driving from MS to Southern CA in mid
June and returning at the end of the month. Looking for activities to
interest my son during that time, someone suggested I could "drop him
off" at Philmont on the way there and pick him up on my return.
He seemed to like the idea but I have my doubts. Several questions include:
1. Will they take an unaccompanied Scout for two weeks?
2. Would the activities fit his level of experience and interests.
3. Would he find two weeks in the woods among "strangers" too much
of a separation?
4. Would it even be possible to get him "in" at this time?
5. How do I contact the "office" there.
Andrew is a 14 year old Star, generally fit with plenty of troop camping
time and some backpacking experience. Some of my concerns stem from my
younger brother's experience with "Outward Bound" when he was 16. Seems
after a week or so above the tree line "God" started talking to Ward
telling him that he had to go home. While I hope Andrew would find
Philmont to be a spiritually enriching experience, I hope the voices
would not be whispering, "go home..."
