You are quite correct! The Michigan laws are extremely tough, and
demanding, and are responsible in part for the high costs of maintaining
our long term camp (Owasippe) in Michigan, and which at this point in time
looks to be in danger of being closed down and sold. It is THE oldest camp
in the country, and beautiful.
However the Michigan laws have changed in the past few years to make it
almost impossible to run our camp without increasing the costs to the boys
enormously, which will not work for Chicago kids.
And, although other states have not gotten so carried away with their
rules, there still are rules, and as usual they are being treated by
unknowing volunteers as "BSA" rules. Thanks again for your input.
