Re: (Copy) Forward of FCC Modem Regulation

There's no need to panic or start writing letters to Washington, DC...
| Two years ago the FCC tried and (with your help and letters of protest)
| failed to institute regulations that would impose additional costs on modem
| users for data communications.
This is another example of forwarded email that just won't die. I received
an identical message nearly two years ago, and learned shortly thereafter
that it was outdated back then. The proposed FCC regulations and fees on
modems were defeated quite some time ago when they realized just how
ridiculous they would be.
In general, email of this type should be viewed with a skeptical eye,
especially if there have been "forwards removed" and the actual message
shows no indication of its date of origin.
Repeat: There's no need to act on this message, and **please** don't
forward it further.
